A carbon-neutral home, from brief to switch-on
Feasibility, design and delivery of a multi-technology renewable energy system for a new eco-house.

After hearing one of our associates speak at EcoBuild, a private client asked us to look at a new eco-house. The brief was deceptively simple: carbon neutral.
What we did
The feasibility study set the full requirement: on-site generation from solar PV, wind and hydro; hot water and heating from an air source heat pump; no export; and the ability to run off-grid indefinitely in a power cut.
We matched predicted demand to on-site generation in the design, then oversaw implementation and integration with the house systems, including the swimming pool and home automation.
What is stronger now
A five-bedroom home built to Code for Sustainable Homes level 5, with a renewable system the owners understand and rely on.
